This resource introduces children to the remote Northern Territory locale of Canteen Creek and the cheeky animals that live there. Children will be able to participate in a range of activities using drama, music, creative play and visual arts to bring the story to life.

The Tree and The Key is an enchanting course that immerses young children in learning through the arts. Each of the lessons in Tree and the Key will give you phonemic awareness of the ‘ee’ sound family in many different creative ways. A Magical Story Map, several colourful animated music videos and a series of playful creative learning activities will connect exciting storytelling with literacy learning.

For Indigenous cultures, a song cycle is so much more than a song. It represents journeys and secret knowledge that belong to a clan or community. It’s a way of passing on knowledge and skills.
